da realbet: Wolves have had another season to remember and they are arguably becoming one of the most attractive propositions for players who are looking to join the Premier League.
da esport bet: Nuno Espirito Santo has built a talented squad with a good mixture of young and old players, and year on year individuals are improving, as is the team as a whole – with their fight for Champions League qualification showing exactly that.
Raul Jimenez continues to impress and has even attracted interest from Real Madrid, while Arsenal are after Diogo Jota.
Another player whose stock is on the rise is Aston Villa’s John McGinn. In 2019/20 he has enjoyed a debut Premier League season that has caught the eye of both Manchester United and Liverpool fans.
However, it seems that Wolves are paying most attention to the £18m-rated player, who has 21 caps for Scotland. That news sparked debate amongst the club’s fanbase, and our writers have chipped in with their verdict on whether the midfielder would be a sensible addition.
Charles Jones
“I think John McGinn would be an excellent signing for any Premier League team, but funnily enough I think Wolves should avoid such a deal.
“The midfielder will certainly cost a pretty penny after making his mark on the Premier League this season, and the Midlands club have more pressing positions to strengthen away from the midfield.
“Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho are two brilliant players, and it’ll be tough for Nuno to justify breaking up that partnership.
“Whereas at centre-back there could be room for improvement as Romain Saiss and Leander Dendoncker aren’t the most convincing defenders in the world.
“Would McGinn be an asset, most definitely, but he shouldn’t be their number one priority this summer.”

“I can’t see in any which way how John McGinn would get into this Wolves team. He may be a completely different player to both Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho, thus offering a fresh threat, but even so, is he really going to get picked ahead of two of Nuno Santo’s favourites? Unlikely.
“Wolves’ need for depth in central positions is clear as other than Leander Dendoncker, the buck falls onto Morgan Gibbs-White, who is yet to live up to his once-touted major potential. McGinn is better than being a backup that’s for sure, but it’s something he may have to settle for if making an acrimonious switch across the Midlands border.
“I doubt he’s willing to risk his reputation with the Villa Park faithful either, especially given Manchester United’s interest over the course of the current campaign.
“Nuno must look elsewhere as this one has the potential to be a career-ender for McGinn.”
Whose Line Is It Anyway: Roy Keane, Graeme Souness or Adrian Durham?
Kealan Hughes
“John McGinn has proved to be a perfect fit for the Premier League and if he had stayed injury-free it is very likely that Aston Villa wouldn’t be in their current predicament.
“He has been key to the form of Jack Grealish and if he travelled across the Midlands to Molineux he could help Wolves’ forwards get even better too.
“A big reason for that is his skill on the ball. 2.3 dribbles per game this season shows he is adept at carrying the ball up the pitch, so he could be the box-to-box midfielder that Nuno lacks from his current options.
“He is still only 25 so could get better and better. If Aston Villa go down he could be available for a cut-price too and that makes his addition even more sensible.”
Jack Saville
“The addition of John McGinn would give Nuno a completely new dimension in his midfield.
“His high energy, all-action approach would perfectly complement Neves and give him greater freedom to dictate the play from deep.
“Averaging 2.5 tackles and 1.5 key passes per game, McGinn offers a fantastic blend of tenacity and creativity and, at just 25 years old, this may only be the beginning of a glowing Premier League career.
“Add in the fact that Wolves would be getting one over their Midlands rivals and this becomes a no-brainer for the Champions League chasing outfit.”
