da bwin: Jordan Ayew has been refusing to train with Swansea City as he looks to force a move away from the Championship club, according to the BBC, and Wolves should target the 26-year-old as they return to the Premier League after a six-year absence.
What’s the story?
da 888: Ayew was Swansea’s top scorer last season with 11 goals as the Welsh side finished 18th and were relegated from the Premier League, but BBC Sport are now reporting that the Ghanaian international forward has gone AWOL.
The BBC also say that both Fulham and Crystal Palace are interested in his signature, with the Cottagers having had a bid of £8m rejected in June.
The Swans won their opening game of the Championship season on the weekend, coming from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United. They have already allowed the older Ayew brother Andre to leave the club on loan during this window with the 28-year-old heading to Fenerbache for the season.
Alternative options
With Jordan Ayew now making it clear that he doesn’t want to be playing for Swansea this season, newly promoted Wolves should attempt to sign him on a cut-price deal before the transfer window closes at 5pm.
Portuguese boss Nuno Espirito Santo has made 10 signings so far this summer, with the most recent being the record-breaking capture of Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore. They have also signed two strikers already this summer, with former loanee Leo Bonatini making his move permanent and Raul Jimenez arriving on a temporary deal from Benfica.
However, Ayew would offer Santo something different to both of these two and has the Premier League experience that could be crucial for Wolves this season.
