da aposte e ganhe: Throughout the latest January transfer window, Wolves have managed to secure the signing of 19-year-old winger Chiquinho as well as deals for Hayao Kawabe and Sang-bin Jeong who have since left the Midlands club on separate loan deals.
da imperador bet: With the transfer deadline approaching, it seems as though the Wolves fans may not have much to look forward to regarding any new faces coming through the door for the time being.
What’s the latest?
In a recent Twitter post from The Athletic’s Wolves journalist Tim Spiers, things are currently “quiet” in terms of any potential incoming transfers at Molineux before the January transfer window closes at the end of the day.
For things to be quiet at this stage in the transfer window, with only hours left until the deadline arrives, suggests that there may not be any more players coming in to strengthen Bruno Lage’s side, unless there are secret deals in the pipeline going on behind the scenes at Molineux that have not come to light yet, which is presumably what the fans would be hoping for.
Fans will be fuming
If Wolves don’t end up signing any other players today, this will surely not go down well with the fans given how their club have had weeks to strengthen their squad and have only brought in one very young winger in Chiquinho and got rid of Adama Traore, who was a very regular figure in Lage’s side having appeared in all but one of their Premier League games this season.
Moving forward, having only managed to score 19 goals in 21 league games this season, it could be worth Wolves trying to secure an attacking player that could slot into Lage’s side and ideally hit the ground running in terms of scoring or providing goals to help the team end the season as strongly as possible.
On the other hand, with Lage identifying the centre-back position earlier in the month as an area he would ideally like to strengthen, this should also force the Midlands club into making some potential deals before the deadline instead of sticking with what they have now.
