Morrison – who made 191 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 67 goals – believes that the club should’ve helped the former England manager in the market by adding more players to his squad, which is currently one of the oldest in the Premier League. Aside from 18-year-old academy graduate Brandon Pierrick, only Max Meyer and Jairo Riedewald are under the age of 27 in Hodgson’s squad of players currently at Selhurst Park.
The former Republic of Ireland international also believes that the 72-year-old is doing an excellent job in SE25.
Let’s see what the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter had to say about his comments…
To kick off the reaction, these two supporters didn’t agree with Morrison’s comments, and feel that Hodgson isn’t getting the best out of the players he currently has at his disposal.
@DJ_VKR said “nonsense” before adding that the Eagles boss has “no idea how to blood youngsters, how to use subs” or “how to use a squad”.
Chris Corkhill then said that he doesn’t believe Hodgson is “getting the best out of that group” while also mentioning that it is “time for a new face and a new project”.
On the other hand, Adam and Mikey felt differently to the first two supporters, agreeing with Morrison’s comments.
Adam said “he’s not wrong” after hearing the words on talkSPORT, whereas Mikey then said that the former Palace striker is “bang on point”.
Lastly, these two fans praised Morrison on a more personal level for “speaking the truth – as usual” – these were the words of ‘Back of the Nest.
Calling all transfer experts! How much did each of these Deadline Day signings cost?
Then, Liam said that the 40-year-old is “the only pundit” he sees who “speaks any sense about Palace” – he does seem to understand the club quite well.
In other news, this Crystal Palace loanee has endured a baptism of fire in his first few games away from Selhurst Park…
