However, despite Arsenal's apparent conservatism at Liverpool, Wright credited Arteta's side when asked to share his thoughts on the match on . The 61-year-old, who scored 185 goals in 288 appearances in all competitions for the north London club, praised their solidity against Arne Slot's Liverpool, which prompted fury from Manchester United icon Keane.
Keane reacts angrily to Wright's repeated defence
Reacting to Wright's repeated defence of Arsenal's tactics, Keane retorted with: "Just be critical of Arsenal for once in your life. Are you still getting paid off by them? Are you still on the wage bill, are you still getting wages off them?"
However, Wright continued to avoid criticising Arsenal, replying with: "No, I'm not going to be critical of them. If Szoboszlai doesn't score a great goal it's 0-0, it's a point, and I would take that."
