da aviator aposta: West Ham’s woeful start to the season is set to continue this weekend in their trip to tackle Everton, according to a prediction from BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson.
What’s the word?
da prosport bet: Four Premier League defeats in a row have left West Ham rooted to the bottom of the Premier League standings at the embryonic stage of the season and Manuel Pellegrini faces a stern task to turn things around in the coming weeks.
A summer spending spree costing over £100m has not improved West Ham’s fortunes, with the Hammers holding an unwanted record of having conceded more goals than any other top-flight side since the start of last season.
This weekend’s trip to Goodison Park to face an unbeaten Everton side appears daunting for the Premier League strugglers and Mark Lawrenson told the BBC he expects the Hammers to suffer a fourth defeat in a row, predicting a 2-1 win for the hosts.
What was said?
“West Ham are the only top-flight team without a point this season and their manager Manuel Pellegrini has got a few things to sort out right through his team. Defensively, the Hammers are abysmal. They were so, so open against Wolves and they have been the same in every other game.
“Without changing the personnel – as in going to get some more players – I can’t see what they are possibly going to do to change that.”
Is he right?
West Ham’s ship appears to have been sinking for a while and Pellegrini was drafted in as the latest captain to bail the waters from the London Stadium but the defensive leaks have not been plugged, despite his wealth of summer additions.

Papering over the cracks with the additions of Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and company has not done enough to solve the biggest problem West Ham face, which is the lack of a combative midfielder and the failures of the wingers to track back.
Everton’s absence of Richarlison will provide some encouragement to the visiting side but they still have the attacking flair that can cause West Ham’s frail defence all sorts of problems. With ties against Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham right around the corner, Pellegrini’s problems are only just beginning.
