The 37-cap talisman hobbled off in the 58th minute of Tuesday night’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg beating of Manchester City at Spurs’ new stadium, with Son Heung-Min getting the only goal of the game late on.
This was after a rash challenge made by the prolific forward on his Three Lions teammate Fabian Delph and in his post-match press conference, Lilywhites manager Mauricio Pochettino revealed his fears that the 25-year-old could miss the rest of the season.
If his concerns are right Tottenham would have to try to mount their Champions League challenge without their captain, as well as keep their place in the Premier League top-four during a tricky run-in.
As expected, Pochettino’s comments roused supporters with their angry replies ranging from criticism of Kane himself to going after City’s Delph and much more.
