da fazobetai: It was an inconsistent season for West Ham last term.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men started off horrendously with four losses in their first four league games, before picking up pace later on in the campaign.
A number of positions could do with some improvement, however, and a few names have already been linked with a move to the London Stadium.
West Ham ruined Arsenal’s unbeaten record at the Emirates in 2007 and history repeated itself at the weekend. Spurs fans don’t take it well in the video below…
It could be a big summer for the Hammers, so how could they line up in the 2019/20 campaign?
The full-back positions should definitely be on Pellegrini’s agenda this summer.
Pablo Zabaleta is reaching the end of his career as a footballer, whilst neither Aaron Cresswell nor Arthur Masuaku managed to nail down a place at left-back last term – Ryan Fredericks performed well towards the end of the season but there are still some question marks.
Fenerbahce captain and left-back Hasan Ali Kaldirim has been linked, whilst the Irons are also said to be interested in Nathaniel Clyne.
Ahead of them, Newcastle’s want-away midfielder Isaac Hayden was tipped to be a target if a move for Andre Gomes failed, which looks to have happened after he signalled his desire to join Everton.
The Hammers are also in talks with La Liga side Celta Vigo over a double swoop for Uruguayan hitman Maxi Gomez and Slovakian international midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, who has been compared to Luka Modric.
Gomez hit 13 goals for Celta last season as they avoided the drop, and he could be a replacement for Marko Arnautovic if he finally departs the club this summer – Inter Milan have been linked with a £30m move.
These incomings would likely see Mark Noble drop out of the side, whilst Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell would have even more competition for a starting berth at left-back – this is definitely a team in need of some new faces.
