da betcris: Real Madrid have not given up their chase of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen and according to AS they are prepared to meet his €30m (£27m) asking price in January.
What’s the word?
The Denmark international was at the centre of a long-running transfer saga over the summer but despite wanting to make the move he remained a Spurs player, with Los Blancos seemingly unwilling to match the £70m fee Spurs requested having shown interest, spending their money elsewhere.
However, with Eriksen’s contract expiring at the end of the season time is running out for Tottenham to make a return on the value of the player, which currently stands at £90m according to Transfermarkt.

It is reported that the club is now willing to accept an offer of £27m for the midfielder’s services, which suggests that they perhaps made the wrong call in the summer by naming such a high price.
Should have left in summer
It was clear during the transfer window that the 27-year-old felt his time at the club had come at the end, and after six years of service and helping the club to a Champions League final and a second-place finish in the league, it is likely that Spurs fans wouldn’t have begrudged him the move.
Instead, Levy played hardball and forced him to stay, and it appears that was the wrong decision to take.
Not only has his transfer value plummeted, but his performances have too, with one goal and one assist in 11 games, and uncharacteristic displays which have led to negative results.
The visit to Olympiacos was a fine example of that, with Football.London giving him a rating of three, and it was little surprise given he lost possession 22 times.
It is possible his attitude is affecting the team, too, with Harry Kane admitting that the difficult position they’re currently in is partly due to what happened over summer. It may be the case that Spurs won’t return to their best until he departs.
