da jogodeouro: We don’t know the exact details of Leeds United’s FFP situation, but all the signs are there to suggest that they’re cutting it incredibly fine in terms of how much they can lose.
da gbg bet: Indeed, a couple of months ago Phil Hay suggested that the Whites were close to the limit in terms of how much they can spend, and that won’t have been made any better after their business in January.
The Whites have reportedly paid €2m (£1.7m) to loan Jean-Kevin Augustin, and he’s supposedly on a much bigger wage than Che Adams, who, according to Football Insider, is on £50k a week.

However, it seemed that a bit of financial respite was on its way for Leeds as Football Insider also reported the Yorkshire club were in line for a multi-million-pound windfall after Watford had bid for Danny Rose.
The article indicated that Leeds have quite a hefty sell-on clause, which entitles them to 10% of any profit made on the sale of Rose.
Spurs were reportedly holding out for £20m, which would have seen the Whites pocket £2m, but now it seems as though they won’t be seeing any windfall from Rose this month.
Indeed, the latest reports indicate the left-back is headed out on loan to Newcastle rather than departing permanently.
This is a blow for Leeds as they won’t be receiving the money in January, and that’s an issue for more than one reason.
Rose may still be sold in the future, but he’ll be entering the last year of his contract this summer, so he’ll likely fetch a much lower fee than he usually would.
Not only that but with Leeds at the top of the Championship, it’s likely that they won’t even need the windfall from the Rose sale in the summer.
Even if Spurs get £20m for him and United pocket 10% of that, it’s peanuts for a side in the Premier League. However, with FFP breathing down the club’s neck at the moment, it’s a windfall that they could have done with sooner rather than later.
In other news, Phil Hay has provided insight into whether or not Leeds’ new signings will start this weekend.
